MGt OPENS NEW OFFICE IN KIRKCALDY [return]
MGt OPENS NEW OFFICE IN KIRKCALDY TO CATER FOR RAPID GROWTH
10 December, 2006

MGt, the UK’s leading support services provider to the digital TV and broadcast industry, today opened its new office in Kirkcaldy to serve its growing customer base.

MGt has invested more than £9 million on the new premises in the John Smith Business Park and acquiring its existing corporate head office at Cluny Court. The new offices will house the MGt Academy, a formal staff development, training and qualification initiative as well as implement the Service Excellence Programme.

The opening of the new office strengthens MGt’s position as the largest private sector employer in Kirkcaldy and Cowdenbeath. Since the investment, MGt has taken on over 300 full-time staff. The company now has created over 1,700 jobs across seven locations within the UK and an annual turnover last year of more than £16 million. MGt is still looking to recruit a further 200 employees and part-time and weekend staff.

The business has experienced consistent growth since its foundation in 1998. Gordon Brown, who will open the new building, recognises MGt as a major contributor to the Scottish economy and a key player in supporting the growth of the UK’s digital TV industry, which is leading Europe.

Broadcast clients such as Sky, Freeview, NTL, Top Up TV, Discovery Networks, Sony Entertainment, Setanta Sports and Zee rely on MGt’s expertise to look after their revenue management and viewer relationships. The company manages the entire customer lifecycle on behalf of clients from acquisition and fulfilment to connection and payment.

"The opening of our new offices is testimony to MGt’s rapid growth over the last few years and marks the next stage in the company’s expansion plans,” explained Jonathan Guthrie, Chief Executive of MGt. “Our investment and the creation of new jobs means the company can continue to provide the highest level of service, both to our clients and their customers.”

“MGt’s impressive track record in the broadcast industry, coupled with unparalleled sector knowledge and experience, make this a company to look out for,” stated Gordon Brown, Chancellor of the Exchequer. “Scotland is a thriving economy and we need more companies with the flair and imagination of MGt to enhance that. I’m confident that they’ll continue to go from strength to strength."
